New experiences...

Yes, it is true --- we get so wrapped up in our bundle (or more appropriate, tub) of joy that we forget to take pictures and worse yet forget to blog. Well, Reece has recently had some new experiences that we just have to share. First off, he is now sitting up on his own! It is so much fun to play with him on the floor and not worry about him falling over as often. I say as often, because Joe 'allowed' Reece to fall over off the couch and take a spill to the floor. Luckily Reece is a trooper and bounced back quickly.

Right now Reece is also into discovering peoples' faces. He loves to reach and pull on your nose, mouth, ear and especially the hair (man does that hurt). Below is a picture of Reece attacking his friend Lydia. Lydia loves to make Reece smile, but this time Reece got the best of her.

Reece finally got to experience a bath in a regular tub. His cousin Grant helped him explore the world of bubbles and even added a toy shark; of course Grant thought it was even more fun to attack his baby cousin repeatedly.

Another favorite activity is watching Grandmama's cat. Reece will laugh as the cat dashes around the house chasing its tail or a piece of paper, but as you can see Shadow is not too thrilled to sit and watch Reece. Luckily Jamie and Melissa, my brother and sister-in-law, also have a cat and a dog that Reece can entertain and be entertained by. Of course last Friday all Reece wanted was my brother Jamie. Jamie and Melissa watched Reece while Joe took me out for my birthday - we had a great evening. However I feel for poor Melissa, every time Jamie left the room Reece cried and couldn't be comforted. Don't give up Melissa, I promise he loves you!
Reece got to meet the doctor that delievered him this week. We caught up with Dr. Brazus and I think Reece had his best smile yet for the camera. Who would have thought that the OBGYN's office would bring out his best side. hee... hee....
The last picture is of me and Reece at The Children's Museum. We tagged along with our friends the Denniston's last Friday and had a great time. Reece loved the science area and of course the Playscape zone. As you can see, he didn't make it for the carousel ride, but I enjoyed it! Poor baby, he fell asleep while we waited to get on. He was a champ that day. And since has been sleeping all night long! We are sooooooooooooo happy!
Alright. I am getting slap happy and it is only 10:30 at night. I better wrap this up. Don't give up on us. I promise we will get better at blogging more often!

We're back...

Okay, it's almost been three weeks since the last blog. So we're a little out of practice, and a little overloaded on pictures. But, of course that's what you're hear to see anyway, right? You don't need to hear me ramble on about all of the fun stuff we're doing...we'll just show you...but maybe we'll ramble on some other time.

Trip to Atlanta!!!

Too many great stories from Atlanta to tell them all... But here's the Cliff Note version. We left on Thursday morning around 7am, made a stop to pick up some Praise Baby DVD's at the Dennistons, then almost got in an accident before we got 10 miles down the road. But God watched out for us and we jumped a curb and everyone was safe. We got to spend about 3 hours with Grandma Davis in New Albany, IN - what fun! A great breakfast and some quality time for her to get to know Reece. He did great on the trip down...hardly any fussing at all. We made it to Papa Baker's apartment in Atlanta around 8pm and settled in for the night. Friday we went downtown to Ikea and walked about 30 miles through Swedish furniture...and purchased some new curtains for our house. After dropping off the ladies back at the apartment, Dad Baker and I went to the opening game of the Braves/Dodgers series. The Braves had a convincing 4-0 win...great times.
Saturday the crew went to the outlet mall up the road. We had planned on a pool day, but 65 degrees and windy isn't a great introduction to swimming for Reece. The five of us ventured downtown to the Braves game...curious as to how Reece would handle the crowd and late night. He did great! His favorite player is Jeff Francoeur. We got up early on Sunday, packed up, and headed back home. The trip home went pretty quick...except for the blowout in Nashville and a mini-meltdown on the south side of Indy. All in all, it was a great trip...and we'd do it again.
For our wonderful dial-up viewers, you probably can't view the slideshow below...so we'll e-mail you some pictures if you leave us a comment...
